[Excerpt:]
... Levy, 39, an environmental attorney for the state Water Resources Control Board, is making his first bid for elected office. A resident of Davis since 2000, Levy said he is concerned that Davis is "rapidly becoming like Santa Barbara" with high-priced housing that the community's teachers, firefighters and police officers can't afford.
Levy said he supports "slow, controlled, well-planned growth." He said he wants to build more environmentally friendly developments such as Davis' Village Homes, a solar, walkable community.
Levy - like Asmundson - said he wants to consolidate some of the city's commissions, which he said have not helped foster positive community discussions. "I want the commissions to give a balanced perspective," he said.
Levy said he also hopes to foster a more respectful tone at council meetings.

He said he hopes to bring more recreational opportunities to the city's young people....
