Women’s History Month at the Hattie
Thanks to the meticulous research and generosity of Judy Wydick, our exhibit contains information on the women winning the Covell award since 1945, and those winning the Brinley award. The Covell award, named for “Cal” Covell, honors a Davis “Citizen of the Year” for contributions to the community in different ways over a period of years. The Brinley award, named for Sam Brinley, honors a person who has made a special contribution in one area for a shorter period. Men and women are eligible for both awards.
Individually, the contributions of these women are impressive. Collectively, as part of culture of significant volunteer efforts in the community, they are awesome. |
