Timmy the Whale Has Died. The benevolent actions of humans are astoundingly confusing. Days of effort to free a young Humpback whale From its confinement in the less saline Baltic Sea Where it would die if left in these water conditions, Compared to how cruelly we treat each other, In interactions, including warfare! The Humpback had mistakenly lost its way in the Baltic Sea. The Germans took a liking to the youngster, Named it Timmy (and Hope), and followed its progress. It repeatedly became stranded on the Sea's coast. Finally it was coaxed into a flooded barge, Financed by two German millionaires, Off Wismar and transported to the North Sea. Sadly after two weeks it was found dead off a Danish island, Called Anholt in the Kattegat, the strait Between Denmark and Sweden. Its identity was confirmed by a tracking device Attached to its back. Just why whales become disoriented and stranded Is not fully understood.
