I founded SilverCreek Kennels in 1989 with a specific mission in mind: to establish a line of Chocolate Labradors that are superb athletes, intelligent and passionate hunting dogs, and loving companions. When I entered the field trial circuit, I was disappointed to encounter a stigma surrounding Chocolate Labradors and a track record in competition that implied black and yellow superiority. I was convinced that the only thing holding chocolates back was the lack of a concerted and specific effort to breed chocolates to their fullest potential. The success of the line I established at SilverCreek Kennels has been outstanding, exceeding even my own expectations.

 I currently offer breeding services with two record breaking Chocolate Labradors. Baracuda Blue (“Cuda”) was the first chocolate to earn FC and AFC titles, and remains the only FC/AFC/CFC/CAFC and MH titled chocolate in the world. To date, “Cuda” has sired 93 AKC titled progeny, among them our remarkable Chocolate Labrador, Cuda’s Blue Ryder. “Ryder” has qualified for six U.S. Nationals and is the first and only chocolate to become a National Amateur Finalist and is the first and only chocolate Double Header winner. We also look forward to introducing a new chocolate sire Bonsoir (“Bones”) later this year. “Bones” is a two-year old chocolate who is on the 2004 National Derby list and hails from three grandparents that are FC/AFC titled, including the 1999 National Open Champion. The natural talent and abilities of these dogs is highlighted by the fact that they have all been amateur trained and handled.
