Originally we maintained a list of links with news articles about Measure X. However, during the last three weeks of this election the news media stories have centered around the shady behavior of Covell Village Co. and the Yes on Measure X campaigners. Can Davis trust these land speculators?

Student files complaint against Yes on X campaign
A UC Davis undergraduate has filed a complaint with Yolo County District Attorney Dave Henderson demanding a criminal investigation of those working on the Yes on Measure X campaign for offering inducements in the form of free pizza to potential voters.

What happens if X fails?
“The suggestion that the Board of Supervisors would bypass the city of Davis in violation of our existing pass-through agreement and forfeit millions of dollars to approve a project promoted by Mr. Gidaro is simply illogical,” Yamada (Yolo County Supervisor, Davis District 4) said.

Closure sought on Covell Village
At last Saturday's Davis Farmer's Market, local residents Melanie Truan and Rory Osborne stopped by the Yes on X booth to learn more. Both are leaning against the project, saying they worry about the traffic impact and insufficient environmental planning.

Tactics assailed

Opponents of Measure X and county election officials say Yes on X organizers illegally campaigned near the Memorial Union polling station yesterday, as they encouraged students to vote in exchange for a free slice of pizza.
